The people who did not have money were harshly beaten with batons and threatened with guns
The main respondent is a 28-year-old man from Morocco. According to the respondent it was 4 AM of the 15th of March and he was in a group of 5 people, all moroccans, men and over 18 when they crossed the border between Turkey and Bulgaria by walking, in Stranzda forest.
The respondent reports that after walking for a short time they were stopped by a van. According to him there were 6 men in uniforms, who started to insult them and shot in the air. The respondent is not able to provide a clear description of the uniforms the men were wearing, but names them as being Bulgarian army officers. According to the respondent the members of the transit group were forced on the ground and the officers started to ask them for their money and their phones. The respondent states that the people who did not have money were harshly beaten with batons and threatened with guns.
The respondent reports that after 3 hours the transit group was forced inside the van and driven to the border with Turkey, where the people were left in the middle of a forest without shoes, money and phones, which were taken by the Bulgarian officers, in the cold and without any light.
