Beaten, Robbed, and Threatened at Gunpoint: 17-Year-Old Egyptian Pushed Back

The respondent is a 17-year-old Egyptian man. He crossed the border with a group of 40 people, aged between 17 and 35. The group left Lipa Camp on 17 November 2025 and headed towards the Bosnia/Croatia border. They spent the night in the forest and continued their journey the following day.
Location of crossing
After walking about 10 km into the Croatian forest, the group was supposed to meet the cars or taxis they had arranged for transportation. At that location, both the smugglers and the Croatian police were waiting. There were four police cars with around 8 to 10 officers. The respondent reports that, at the point of interception, the Croatian police began beating the group with sticks, took their clothes and shoes, and burned these items. The police also confiscated their phones and money. The group was then pushed back towards Bosnia. Before sending them away, a police officer pointed a gun at a member of the group. At the moment the officer pressed the trigger, an Egyptian man pushed him, causing the shot to miss, and no one was harmed.
After this incident, the group was pushed back into Bosnia.
