Group of 3 walked bare foot and in underwear through the forest in the coldest part of the night

On the 28th of October 2025, a group of five men from Morocco in the age between 21 and 30 left Bosnia and Herzegovina and walked to Croatia, crossing the border near Velika Kladuša. As our interlocutor, a 24-years-old Moroccan man told us, the group walked through the forests for four days.
On the 1st of November at about 11 pm in the night, they were stopped by the Croatian police only 30 km from Slovenian border where tey were heading. There were two male police officers and one policewoman in blue uniforms with a police car. Two people started running and escaped, but they were caught by other police officers, beaten, and pushed-back, as our interlocutor later learned. The officers took away the phones from the remaining three persons. Then they were taken to the border with the car. When they stopped, there were submitted to three large officers in black uniforms and with their faces covered with balaclavas. The officers forced the group to strip to their underwear and remove their shoes. Then the officers sprayed pepper spray into the people’s eyes and beat them with large sticks.
Our interlocutor could not identify the location, as nobody had any navigation after their phones were stolen. There was a river at the border. There was also a group of six minors from Egypt, our interviewee told us, which was also pushed-back. The people were pushed into the river and forced to return to BiH. They walked bare foot and in underwear through the forest in the coldest part of the night. They spent the night in the forest. In the morning, they found some houses and the local people helped them with clothes and gave them some money. Then they took a taxi to Bihać, which was about 20 km away.
