“They don’t care. They just beat. They know nothing but violence”
A large group of around 50 minors, mainly from Egypt, report that they took taxis from Bihac to the Croatian border at night and walked into Croatia. They were led by an Afghan man and walked from 9pm until 10 am the next day and slept in the forest for 2-3 days. They were lost in the forest in this time and ran out of food. They describe that they were “dying of hunger”.

The respondent describes that the Croatian police (5-6 men wearing blue) found them in the forest and they ran away. He describes that they were shot at and they set dogs on them. He states: “As soon as they came to us, they opened fire and set dogs on us. We all ran. From running so much, he fainted and fell to the ground.””I swear to god, they have no mercy for minors at all”. The respondent also states: “They don’t care. They just beat. They know nothing but violence”
A group of 10 of the larger group then reportedly ran and managed to escape, returning to Bosnia. They walked from the night until 10am the following morning back to Bihac. One of this group was then sent to hospital from eating poisonous berries in the woods. They do not know what happened to the rest of the original group.

They were lost in the forest for days without food. One person was eating berries that turned out to be poisonous and was sent to the hospital on returning from Bosnia. He was kept in the Psychiatric ward for 4 days, forcibly strapped down the entire time, while he recovered. He has now been discharged.
