All of the members of the group got beaten with electric batons

The main respondent is a 21-year-old man from Algeria. The respondent reports that on the 4th of December 2023 he was in a group of 11 people, one of which was a minor. According to him, they were in a car driving from Harmanli to Sofia. He reports that when they left Harmanli the car was stopped by a police patrol on the road. The respondent reports that the driver was driving faster to avoid police when they suffered a car accident, their car hitting a lorry. According to him, by the time the respondent and his companions got out of the accidented car, the authorities involved reached out to them. The respondent describes civilian cars, in which the officers were wearing blue uniforms. According to the description, the authorities seem to be the Bulgarian National Police.
The respondent states that once the police officers arrived to the car, he and most of his companions started running to escape the police. According to the respondent the number of police officers were about 15 to 20 individuals, who started beating up the people they caught. The respondent states that all of the members of the group got beaten with electric batons but some people got also kicked in the face. The respondent claims that he got his front teeth broken in two. He also reports to have his wrist and ankle twisted.
The respondent states that after the beating he and his companions were taken to Harmanli camp. Once there, he claims to have been finger-printed. He reports that the doctor of the camp did not examine him and that he got send away from the office as soon as he entered it, despite his wounds. He reports multiple insults.
