The main respondent is a 19-year-old man from Morocco. He states that together with a friend, on the 6th of March he left the town of Dragoman in Bulgaria and walked until the town of Dimitrovgrad in Serbia. The respondent reports that since it was raining, they looked for shelter in an abandoned house in the town of Dimitrovgrad. He claims that around 6 p.m., 6 people wearing uniforms entered the house. He recalls that they were wearing balaclavas and blue uniforms with a Serbian flag on the sleeve, and one of them was armed. According to the description, the uniforms match with those usually worn by the Serbian Police Brigade.
The respondent states that the officers beat him and his friend repeatedly with batons on the whole body. According to the respondent, the officers stole their phones, power banks and all the money they had, and after that they forced them to get in a vehicle. The respondent states that they were escorted by 2 other police vehicles – one in the front and one in the back. He recalls that the officers urged them to bend down in the car and cover the head with their arms in order to hide themselves. According to the respondent, they were driven back to Bulgaria, the officers forced them to get off the car near the Border Crossing Kalotina and showed them the direction to Sofia.
The respondent states that he and his friend walked until they reached the town of Dragoman, where they got on a train and traveled back to Svilengrad hiding in the bathroom, since they were left without money to pay the ticket.
